Description: This webinar will provide an up-to-date overview of what the scientific community knows about the effects of psychological distress and well-being on cardiovascular health risk and promotion. Factors that may underlie this association for cardiac patients and strategies for increasing mental health awareness, help-seeking behaviors, and access to care for patients will be discussed.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Describe the relationships of different mental health symptoms and conditions with cardiovascular health risk. 
  2. Identify behavioral and physiological factors implicated in both mental health and cardiovascular health. 
  3. Practice and implement strategies for connecting patients in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation to mental health care.

How to access CE Credit:

Live Webinar: Please complete the evaluation at the conclusion of the webinar to obtain your certificate. When the webinar ends, a window will appear with a link to a survey. The first page is the survey and the second page contains a link to the certificate. Download the certificate before closing the survey because you will not be able to access the certificate again. A follow up email will also be sent to the live attendees containing the handouts and survey link. 

Recorded Webinar: The recorded webinar course will become available within 10 business days of the live webinar. You will receive an email when the recorded webinar course is available. To earn CE credit, learners must complete the webinar test with 100% accuracy. The webinar test is included in the recorded webinar course package. 

Credits offered:

AACVPR CE: This course has been approved by the AACVPR Professional Education Committee for a total of 1.0 AACVPR Continuing Education Credits. 

Nurse CE:  An application has been made to Creighton University Health Sciences Continuing Education activity for 1.0 contact hour for nurses.
